The Niseko Gates app provides community-sourced, real-time status updates for backcountry access gates. This information is for informational purposes only and is not a guarantee of safety or access. Backcountry travel is inherently dangerous. Always check official sources, carry appropriate safety equipment, and know how to use it. You are responsible for your own safety and decisions.

You agree not to misuse the service. Misuse includes submitting false reports, harassing other users, or attempting to disrupt the service. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for any user who violates these terms.

Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. We collect information you provide when you sign up, such as your email address and username. We also collect data you submit, such as gate status updates and votes. This data is associated with your user profile but may be displayed anonymously or with your username, depending on application settings.

We use this information to operate and improve the Niseko Gates app. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may use aggregated, anonymized data for analytical purposes. We use Supabase for authentication and database services, and their privacy policy also applies to your data.

Intellectual Property Notice

The Niseko Gates application, including its logos, design, and code, are the exclusive property of the app creators and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Any unauthorized reproduction, copying, reverse engineering, redistribution, or creation of derivative services based on this application’s concept, functionality, design, or code is strictly prohibited. All user-submitted content (such as gate status updates and comments) is owned by the user who submitted it; however, by submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display that content in connection with the service.
